i was thinking about this earlier. how many times have you seen one band? i've seen one band in particular 9 times. that band would be sleater-kinney. wouldn't you say, "okay, yeah. i've seen them before. i know what they're about. it's okay if i miss their show this time." i can't say that. so i took the greyhound, the amtrak; all that crap. i've seen them 3 times in the past week. and i'm thinking about going to the san francisco show later today. if it is addiction, i would say, "hey, it's healthier than heroin." i would and i did. it's great to have such a fervent love for a band. anyone else go out of their way more than a few times to see a band? just curious.

Not a damn thing wrong with seeing your favorite band so many times. My wife and I have seen Social Distortion six times, and it never gets old. You go to see your favorite bands touring in support of different albums. You go to see how they vary their set lists, maybe unearthing some live gems they haven't played in years. You go to take friends and expose them to something new. Whatever. There's nothing like seeing a band who you've connected with, whose lyrics you've committed to memory and applied to your experiences, whose songs have been there for certain moments in life and expressed certain feelings you couldn't articulate. It's cool shit.

hey hey hey........ain't nothing wrong with that. that is actually fucking cool! i especially think its admirable, as in the case with blackmountain, that even a married couple would do something like that. keep that passion and youthful soul going. that is cool!

Atom and His Package was this way for me. It first started with a show in San Diego back in 1999 when I was awestruck by his persona and the shiny little music box he refers to as his package.

The show ended and I just couldn't get enough of it, so I snuck into his van, threw out the spare and hid inside the tire compartment. I did this for a few shows until the van ended up getting a flat and the stowaway was discovered.

I made it as far as Flagstaff, AZ and was at least able to experience the whole "Shopping Spree" incident. This whole adventure was worth it.

Before he broke up the band (consisting of himself), I made all his nearby shows which I attended while in disguise. My favorite costume was the "luchador sin cinto" outfit. Man, that was embarrassing.

That was you? I heard the entire commotion from inside the storage container on his roof rack. Made it as far as Albuquerque, myself.
