Amazing...
Just when I thought it was safe to read the local papers again - I read that the Calecia City Council wants to hold a MONTH LONG "Sidewalk Sale". Shit, I say, tear down all the buildings on both sides of 2nd St, make dirt lots, and make Downtown one big Flea Market!! This will really make Perrone happy! More of this, more of that, MORE FOR EVERYONE!!!
Oh, that forward thinking Council.... a-fuckin'-mazing.....

I read a while back that the council hired a consultant to convert downtown into something similar to the Gaslamp in downtown San Diego. I'm fucking serious. It wasn't the Calexicio Chronicle, it was some other valley rag. I saved it for laughs, I'll look for it and scan it.
They were talking about sidewalk cafes, live bands, having each block on 2nd Street represent a different world nation in look and feel, etc.
Hey morons, what people need here are jobs, not fuckface frappuccinos! |

You have GOT to be kidding! People have to WANT to come to Calexico for that!! And they ain't coming to shop at T.C. Worthy or California Market either!!
Man, what are these people smoking? And why don't they share? This way I can perhaps see what THEY are seeing....

I don't see it happening. The Gaslamp section has music, restaraunts, dancing, a future. I don't see that at all in Calexico.... remember what happened to Owens??
