I've seen a few and two that stick out in my mind are Brazil and Fellini Satyricon. Quite unusual.

Yeah, I dig anything by Terry Gilliam and Federico Fellini.

A few other directors, who's films you might enjoy (and/or find bizarre), are: Alejandro Jodorowsky, David Lynch, David Cronenberg, Ken Russell, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Vincent Ward, Peter Greenaway and Richard Kelly.

Bizarre movies? Well, the most recent one that I just finished watching was "Secretary". "The Piano Teacher" and "The City of Lost Children" are two French flicks that are really cool, yet pretty bizarre. "Donnie Darko" was also a good one.

Jean-Pierre Jeunet was one of the writers of, and co-directed, The City of Lost Children, and Richard Kelly wrote and directed Donnie Darko.

Yeah, I've seen some Lynch (Wild at Heart, Lost Highway not Mulholland Drive and Blue Velvet), Cronenberg (Crash), Jeunet/Caro (Delicatessen, City of..., not Amelie). Thanks for the tip on the other guys (I've heard of them but not seen any of their work).

I prefer disturbing movies over bizarre ones, which I don't really consider the same thing.

One movie I enjoy every viewing is Gummo by Harmony Korine. I haven't seen Julien Donkey Boy, mainly because of it being unavailable in this area, but I can imagine it being a masterpiece as well.

It's a shame that Harmony Korine never completed Fight Harm, a film about him picking random fights and getting beat up. Here's a summary off his Web site:

Fight Harm
I go around provoking passers-by, trying to start a fight while the video camera follows me and films everything. It's very brutal -- I've already broken a collar bone and been arrested. The punches and kicks are all real, it's one of the most disgusting things you'll ever see.

Vulgar is a pretty bizarre movie (I guess more disturbing for elchrist). It was directed by Bryan Johnson and I think it was written by Kevin Smith.

I really don't know what to think of movies like Midnight Cowboy and Easy Rider. Maybe making movies on drugs isn't such a good idea. They both start out ok but then they try to show what it's like to be high and I lose track of what the fuck is going on.

Vulgar is an excellent film. Bryan Johnson wrote and directed it himself. Dude needs to put more effort into shedding his View Askew-lackey image and focus more on projects like this.

If you want to watch a really well-made, disturbing movie, I recommend Irreversible. It's the perfect date movie.
