I think every single restaurant in Mexicali has cockroaches and everyone has heard a cockroach story about every single restaurant in Mexicali.

It's a risk either way and maybe that is why they taste so good. The rush... the feeling that you might eat a big nasty bug.

You're telling me that Chinese Food restaurants have cockroaches too.

When I was a kid, my family and I went La Mision in Mex for Chinese food and my dad found a huge cockroach in his dinner which was still alive and was struggling to get out of the noodles the whole time we were there. My dad had already eaten off the plate and when he found this roach he immediately called the attention of the waiter. The waiter was shocked and called over the manager/owner and they tried to hush us out by not charging us for the dinner and all that.

This just proves that no matter how high the quality of the restaurant you're at, your chances are still the same for finding a cockroach in your meal.

For some strange reason places that only sold flautas in mex, had an above average infestation of cockroaches.

As a kid one of our favorite places to eat flautas was on that same street that faces Catedral, but we stop going because it was so obvious that the place had a high volume of cockroaches. That sucked because those flautas were might tasty. Maybe it was because the cockroaches added to the flavor.

There every where fucker.

Like elchrist said no matter how "up-scale" a place you go into you might find roaches. So just enjoy the fluatas this is still the best place to go to eat flautas.

Why do you think the flautas are so good? It's the roaches. It's a little known fact that the secret spice in Aztec and Mayan foods was cockroaches.

This is the reason food will always taste better off a cart or a shitty shack than it will in a fancy restaurant.

They're rich in vitamins and minerals too! It's peanut butter jelly time!

The best tacos that you can get in Mexicali have to be from "Sarape's."

You just order some carnitas, get some maiz tortillas, a little guacamole, a lot of salsa, some bohemias, and you are set for the night. You even get to hear Mariachi music.
