They're tostada-like tacos de maiz, normally with cheese. The tortilla is toasted on the grill and slightly burnt. At just about every place I've tried them, they're prepared a little different. Some may compare them to sincronizadas, but I would say otherwise.
Before you'd have to go to the motherland to try them out, but now there's La Caretta de Lichi, plus a few other places in Mexicali which I don't remember their names. |

I went to Mexicali last night and ended up eating at some taco shop called Super Meno's 2. It's located on Anahuac, past Las Brasas.
These tacos were awesome. About twice the size of your standard taco from Mexicali and only 12 pesos. They even had sopes that were about twice the size of your standard sope for about 14 pesos. I tried both, and they were both delicious. The only problem is that I was pretty drunk so my judgement may have been impaired.
Since this place is called Super Meno's 2, I'm left to believe that there is a Super Meno's 1 somewhere.
I completely recommend this place. The tortillas are made as you order them, and so are the sopes. I'm trying this place out again the next time I go to Mexicali. |

verbal is right, drunk tacos are good anywhere. I went to a cart on friday in centro mex. and they were great I don't know if i'd go sober though.
But I must say, Super Menos is good, I've been to Number 1 it's in Palaco, and they actually serve border line burritos, but good grub though. |

So are you saying that you yell across the restaurant and say 'dame 5' and a lady will break out 5 burritos from an ice chest. Can you order from your car? |

I don't think you mentioned any place that actually has good tacos or just tacos to begin with. The title of the topic is "best tacos in mex" not "best wannabe fancy restaurants in mex". |

DID TOO, I SAID,
"TACOS YUBBY" they're the best, don't eat tacos anywhere else, BAMOAS are good but kinda watery wets the tortilla too much, then there is the tacos at the new club that replaced ANTROJOS, called TILINGOS, they have good tacos if you don't want to drive all the way up justo sierra and the street that takes you to san luis and the mall
ANYWAY
then there is... lemme see...FANCY RESTAURANTS... I JUST SAID IF YOU HAVE MONEY... are you hard up for it?

| best tacos in mex are from el tecolote. With out a doubt. Ask for a campechana de maiz and you will see. This place is located in blvd de las Americas, like two blocks behind La maquina 501. |
