I've used Bull Frog suncreen and that works best if you are going to be in the water. Though it smells a little funny it holds up to ocean and the sun. While if one uses Banana Boat (smells better) but as soon as you hit the water you can see the suncreen leave your body.

You're supposed to put on sunscreen at least a half hour before you go into water, so that the sunscreen is absorbed into your skin.

This one summer, I went to the beach with some friends, but forgot to buy any sun block.

"Ah," I thought, "I'll just borrow some from someone." So sure enough, when we got there, I grabbed a bottle and threw it on. So I went through the entire day at the beach, and then went to sleep.

The next day, one of my friends was making fun of me. I grabbed a mirror and looked at myself and realized I had become a couple of shades darker. I went up to the person I had borrowed the sun block from and asked that person what they had given me.

Long story short, read the labels. Sun tan lotion is not cool.

I like to use Neutrogena sun screen for my face because it hasn't caused any breakouts. I know that may sound totally gay but it's true. Also, it doesn't have a funny smell. My last three trips to the beach I've always made sure to have it with me.

Why is it that no store in this desert, that I know of, carries sun screen with SPF 50 or higher?

I'm burning up here!

Too many Mexicans.

Maybe the El Centro Wal-Mart sells it.

Nope. Highest I found was 35 SPF.

I bought 50 SPF at a Target in SD back in June; I just assumed that all Targets would carry it.
