Watching the early Saturday morning news on cable television, a segment on the upcoming presidential election came up which obviously involved nominee John Kerry and incumbent George W. Bush. The topic at hand was not exactly about their political views or past scandals, but about a pact they share with a "secret" society at Yale University named Skull and Bones.
Just about everyone is aware of this group. Whether it's through reading, watching the movie or television show based on the group, or you happen to be a member. The selected members appear to only be chosen due to their potential benevolence towards them in the future.
There's nothing wrong with being a member of a club, right? Although what about our current president and the Democratic presidential nominee? Yes, there are many other more important secrets that may be hidden from this nation's people, but a "tree house" club?
I do have to admit that I am curious as to who the Skull and Bones is backing up as their man for this election. |

That all depends on whose number is lower. |

Potential members are chosen because of several things. Grade point average, family (although Dubya's daughter was not tapped), and contribution to campus society. While all the sort of sinister rumors about S&B are probably not true, they do have amazing networking ability. They are bound to help each other out in terms of jobs, introducing people, etc. and that inevitably leads to some levels of corruption. Basically, it's a bunch of very privileged, very smart (most of the time) individuals and S&B gives them just that much more power. A country club with an air of mystery if you will. (yawn)
As far as what it has to do with the presidential nomination, in my opinion, absolutely nothing. |
