Why is it called 1st annual if it's the first time they do it? What makes them so sure that this year is gonna be a success and that'll they'll do it again every year?

Thank you, I'm always making that point when I see that and people call me anal, but it's so true.

It's all marketing, plus as the promoter you have to think positive.

Hey, I have the key to the fence for the Calexico pool. I say we skip the 15 bucks and here it from the pool.

I thought the same thing. There is no such thing as a "first" annual anything. The proper term would be "The Inaugural IV Fest".

Wrong park; Nosotros Park is the one behind the Grant Street fire station...the one across the street from the swimming pool is Crummet Park.

I noticed that they were demolishing the stage, but I think they're going to build a bigger and/or better one for the Mariachi Festival the city is putting together on Cinco de Mayo.

That stage sure did provide a lot of memories...

Do you own a crystal ball?

This event was a complete bust, in my opinion. I didn't take an exact count, but there must have been, at the most, 150 people there and that's being generous. This included staff, vendors/exhibitors, law enforcement and paying attendees. Kids got in for free. It was nowhere near capacity as the venue was too large and the ticket prices were too expensive, considering the talent that was booked.

I was able to get into the event at no cost, with the help of my good friends at Inkredible Tattoo Studio, and spread the word about my lost dog and Calecia.com. I even got to meet a fellow member as well as experience my new favorite drink of the moment: Rock Star with Jagermeister. It's like Vodka with Red Bull, plus balls.

IV Fest 2004 was a catastrophe. The headlining band, Anything Box, was unable to finish their music set as curfew roamed around at about 11 PM. The audience was disgusted and demanded a refund all while calling the band "culero." The band was obviously upset with the ending. I hope the attendees understand who was really at fault here... the promoter.
