Well, it seems like the whole Harry Potter craze has just about gone away.

I've personally never read any of the books myself, so I really have no opinion on them.

Has anyone here read them? And if so, is it really deserving of all the hype it's recieved?

I probably wouldn't mind reading them now, but I do want to know if it's worth the bother.

I have read the first 3 and I am currently half way thru Order of the Phoenix. I have to say that the books do suck you in. I don’t know why really. I guess it’s the way Jk Rowling describes everything.

Goblet of Fire has been my favorite so far. That one was hard to put down. Plus the movie comes out in Nov.

I’m sure I will be getting The Half Blood Prince but not until I finish OOTP.

Cool

Then I hope you're not Catholic because Pope Benedict believes the Potter books subtly seduce young readers and "distort Christianity in the soul."

I'm sure these books are interesting reads. At what grade level are they written for because I have trouble reading after the 6th grade.

Those of you expecting to read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in a language other than English are going to have to wait. Apparently, the book was kept so confidential, that no translators were allowed to even see the book until it was officially released for the first time.

I even heard one rumor that said that JK Rowling herself wasn't allowed to read, or even know what the book was about until after it was released.

Guys All i got to say about harry potter is that IT ROCKS!!!!!!!

I read Half blood prince in like a day and a half... and that damn book kept me on the edge of my seat till the end....

bottom line is that the harry potter books are an easy read.. aside from the some of the british terminology but easy overall... I highly recomend it...

yeah your right on this one they are totally deserving of the hype. they keep you hooked till the end where everything falls apart and most of the endings leave you with a feeling of need. the new terms and language you get in these books are easy stuff to get confussed about and idiot could just get the book and toss it. other than that its a great week end reading. and yes snape does kill Donbledore
