311 in San Diego

I went to see 311 last night with my girlfriend in San Diego at the Rimac Sports Arena in La Jolla. I'm not the biggest fan of 311 (it was something different for me), but I have to admit they put on a good show. Some band called Pepper opened for them. They sounded pretty good even though I kind of thought they were 311/Sublime wannabes. They also kind of got too third wave California teen "ska" towards the end of their show. When 311 started playing, I think that's the time where I got the most second hand pot smoke ever (kind of weird because Rimac is located in UCSD and, come on, who would smoke pot in a school setting?). Overall, the show was pretty cool (aside from the college students who got completely drunk before the show since no alcohol was sold at the event) and I recommend seeing them live sometime if you have not done so already. Rock on!

i have sen pepper play in hawaii, that is where they are originally from, i love that band, good combination of reggae/ska/punk, i mostly like them for their reggae side of their music. 311 is a very bad ass band to, i reccomend you download their new song, a cover from the cure, 311: love song. it's a very bad ass song, i really reccomend it my friends. reggae is taking ovr the world, you watch and see, it;'s a trend coming back on top of the music scene. laterzzzzzzzzz

I'm sorry then. Let me rewrite my post so that "playero sin playa" likes it. I went to go see 311 in San Diego. It completely sucked because of many reasons. First, the environment sucked "por que no hicieron slam". Then, none of the bands played punk or ska. What sucked the most is that I could not make any buddies because there wasn't anyone with a black jacket that had lots of punk patches and had ripped pants and combat boots. It sucked I tell you.
