I'm trying to lose at least 10 lbs, and I just wanted to know if any of you had any suggestions on to which food I could eat that tastes good, is filling, and will still help me lose weight. A cousin of mine once lost a bunch of weight by only eating white rice and steamed chicken. I also know tuna is pretty healthy. I need more options cause I don't wanna eat steamed chicken and tuna for a whole month.

You could eat all the meat you want but no bread, rice, pasta, or anything with carbs. If you don't want that, just eat a balnced meal three times a day. Certain people don't know that by eating a balanced meal you could lose weight. You do not necessarily have to lose weight by not eating.

You were almost right. You can loose weight by eating balanced meals(Protein, Carbs, and Fat). A good ratio is 40%protein, 40% Carbs, and 20% Fats. The key is smaller portions and more meals. I would suggest to try to eat around 5-6 meals a day. By eating smaller meals you help increase your metabolism and you feed your body the energy it needs as you go along. Instead of stocking up and not burning it off. I can get a you a dietary breakdown if you tell me how much you weight and what you goal is(weight lost, tone up, or build muscle)

I'm currently on a bulking diet which I plan to convert into a cutting diet in about a week.

Would you have to be working out in order for a diet like this to be effective? If possible, could you provide us with an example of what a day on this diet would consist of?

Working out helps a lot. Diet along can work, but not as effective as diet and exercise. Either you must very active. You can't lay around and expect to loose wait. You need to burn off calories.

Diet sample would depend on your goal.
Some diets require more protein than others and some exercise routines vary by the goal.

This is an example of a bulk about 2,500 calories. (muscle building diet):
MEAL 1
8 eggs (2 yolks)
2 cup Cream of Wheat
1 piece fruit
1 Tbs Flax

MEAL 2
6 oz tuna in water
1 cup rice
1 gram Fish-oil

MEAL 3
5 oz chicken
1 med potato
1 cup corn

MEAL 4
5 oz chicken
1 Med Potato

MEAL 5
8 oz halibut
1 large potato
Salad
2g fish-oil

MEAL 6
Protein Shake
1 cup of cottage cheese

Here is a list of healthy foods I found that look pretty good

Proteins:
Chicken breast, turkey breast, lean ground turkey, swordfish, orange roughy, haddock, salmon, tuna, crab, lobster, shrimp, top round steak, lean ground beef, buffalo, lean ham, egg whites or substitutes, low-fat cottage cheese.

Carbohydrates:
Baked potato, Sweet potato, Yam, Squash, Pumpkin, Steamed Brown Rice, Steamed Wild Rice, Pasta, Oatmeal, Barley, Beans, Corn, Strawberries, Melon, Apple, Orange, Fat-Free Yogurt, Whole-Wheat Bread.

Vegetables:
Broccoli, Asparagus, Lettuce, Carrots, Cauliflower, Green beans, Green peppers, Mushrooms, Spinach, Tomato, Peas, Brussel Sprouts, Artichoke, Cabbage, Celery, Zucchini, Cucumber, Onion.

Also I would some fats to the list like:
Flax Seed Oil, Fish Oil, All Natural Peanut Butter(the one with the oil on top. Mix it), Avocado, Salmon, Olive oil.
You should fat to at least 3 meals.
Add vegetables to at least three meals.
Eat small portions, eat until contempt.
Allow yourself one day a week when you can eat anything you want all day (cheat day)

On that muscle building diet, will I gain muscle and lose fat? Cause first I wanna concentrate on losing aprox. 10 lbs. of fat, then start gaining muscle. The most I've lost in 1 week was 7 lbs, I would run outside in the summer at around 2pm and have grapefruit juice and 1 slice of toast for breakfast, steamed chicken and white rice for lunch, and tuna or a lettuce salad for dinner. Ohh, and I was taking Xenadrine pills also.

Thanks for the list Ame-ricano, this is a much more simplified list and the foods are things that we should all have at home. Cause other diets I see tell you to eat food that is hard to cook and most the ingredients you don't have at home.

On cheat day we can drink beer right? Maybe Miller light (less carbs) ?

How about a healthy breakfast? I only drink a glass of grapefruit juice
( freshly squeezed, 2 graprfruits) and 1 slice of toast with a little margerine. I know that breakfast is the most important food of the day, but I don't know what to eat. On cheat days I usually eat a breakfast burrito (egg, bacon, cheese, and potato) from La Hacienda, and it fills me up pretty good and I don't get hungry the rest of the day. Any suggestions? If you have a list of various Breakfast meals like in the bulk up diet it would be cool.

Breakfast is the most important meal in your diet for the simple fact you just woke and you have eaten in about 6-8 hours so you want to refuel your body well. The best source of fuel is Carb. Grapefruit juice a considered carb it's more of a simple carb than a complex carb which is better for energy. You see Carbs are converted by your body into glucose which is stored in your muscles and used for energy. This helps burn fat. So I would use a complex carb in the morning to get you started. Like oatmeal, cream of wheat or whole wheat toast (with all natural peanut butter, instead of butter). As the day goes on you want to reduce your Carbs and increase you protein. Your fats should peak in the middle meals.
Sometimes I cut out my carbs after 6pm and stick basically protein.

A good breakfast would be something like:

6 egg whites
2 slices of whole wheat bread
Grapefruit juice
1 serv. of All-Natty PB

-or-

1/2 cup of oats
protein shake
1 yogurt
2g of flax

on that mucle building diet you will gain weight mostly muscle and minimal fat. You probably don't want to do that until you are ready to put on size. Usually I would lose weight and then bulk this way I dont gain fat above the fat I already have.

You drink anything you want on your cheat day. I drink heavy beer like Samuel Adams and Newcastle when I cheat I fucken cheat.
