|
|
Now I am not assuring anything, but there is a rumor going on that the specials might be coming to mexicali sometime within the next few months. I know this sounds completely absurd but I heard this from someone in mexicali who is actually in charge of organizing concerts in mex, and she said that there is a big possibility of them coming to mex. I heard many rumors in the past about how la polla records or manu chao would be coming to mex (which were total B. S.) so I don't know.
On the other hand, it has been confirmed that Massacre 68 will be coming to mexicali next month for all those who like old school mexican punk.
I will post more on these events as I find out more details. |

Although I think it's unlikely, I can see The Specials playing in Mexicali. This city has a big ska following and although The Specials were one of the first ska bands to become popular, they aren't exactly top billing anymore.
Anything's possible... who would have thought Luciano Pavarotti would perform in Mexicali? |

| god, it would be so bad ass if the specials came to mexicali. Dance to their melodic reggae /ska beats, that would be awesome, but i really do doubt it they will come. Mexicali, people don;t know how to organize shit there, they alwasy say these big acts are gonna come, but yet they never do. |

| Well guess what guys, I went into this website called mexicalirock.com. According to them, the Specials are going to play April 17 with Buck-O-Nine (which they suck), English Beat, and Aragon (don't know who they are). They did not specify time, place, or where to get tickets, but this is the most assurance I've gotten. |

I wouldn't go by what the people on that guestbook post. They need to PLOSTFU.
It might be best for you to head on over to the Official The Specials Web site and ask one of the die hard fans that hang out on their message board. |

Must be the reformed version calling itself "The Specials" with only one original member like Stiff Little Fingers and Boney M. |
So this is it!! Should I still go if all this talk about "the specials" in mexicali is true? |

I don't want to be harsh but why go to a concert that is not the real deal? I think that the Specials are a great band because of their original music, so why go see a band that might not be the original creator |
