Well it's obviously not haunted, but if you take a look at the photo galleries you'll realize how sad the situation is. Considering it was once a thriving little community/resort during the mid-century and now, well it's pretty much shit. |

The Salton Sea is actually trying to make a comeback. Local scientists have been trying to come up with the most efficient, most inexpensive way of desalting the Salton Sea.
In case someone doesn't know, the problem with the Salton Sea is that it is a dead end. Water gets to the Salton Sea and then has nowhere to go. As a result, the water evaporates, leaving the salt and minerals behind, and leaving a trail of dead animals that attempt to make a habitat there.
It's actually pretty sad since the Salton Sea is actually home to many diverse species. More than 1,000, I think, and that number is shrinking quick. |

I actually own some land in Salton City, so I obviously hope that the situation is fixed.
I know that the value of the land is rising, considering that they are building houses there and the houses which originally started at $78,000 are now selling for $89,000. |

And who the hell are these people buying these houses?
I remember having lunch outside of A&W in El Centro and this older gentleman who claimed to be working on the Salton Sea cleanup project just started going on and on about how that area was going to flourish once more.
So hey, maybe you hit a goldmine? |

According to the IV Probe, sea-side property is at around $15,000.
I hope you still have this property you spoke of, because when that beach is ready, we'll need a place to crash. Even if it means camping out on a lot.

| property value in Salton City is rising because of a casino that is under construction nearby, a few miles to the north. I also bought a vacant lot there, and, even if I haven't finished paying for it, I am already receiving letters from real estate agents trying to buy it from me. |
