Today a few of us decided to drink some beer in preparation for the Mexico vs. Chile friendly soccer match, which unfortunately ended up in a tie. Knowing that the city of Calexico's markets offer a very limited selection of alcoholic beverages (i.e. - beer), we opted towards the best quality/price ratio.

Of course there is a six pack of Guinness or possibly Samuel Adams, but we weren't looking at spending or buying too much. The choice would be obvious if we were in Mexicali -- Caguamas -- although as I've previously stated, we were situated in Calexico. So we put our heads together and decided upon some Michelob Amber Bock, priced at $4.99 for a container of six 12 oz. bottles at Meadows Market on Meadows Ave. A good beer for one who isn't looking to spend much, but not willing to sacrifice in taste.

So I ask, when you don't want to spend too much to get intoxicated all while enjoying a good tasting alcoholic brew, what do you resort to?

When Vons was here, it was a 12 pack of Lucky Lager for $5.50.

I guess if you live in El Centro, you still have this option. In Calexico, we'll have to wait and see if Safeway does come in.

On my latest visit to Ocotillo Liquor I noticed that they have Newcastle in a can.
This can only mean one thing: I'll be taking Newcastle on my next off road outing!
This is a great deal.

I went into Vons the other day to get myself some Guinness. I noticed that they had a six pack of Bass for $13.99. I thought to myself that this seem pretty expensive and it must be some fucken tastie beer. I grabbed my four pack of Guinness and left.
Today I went into Albertson's to buy some Guinness as I stood there debating wether to get the four pack cans of the six pack bottles I spotted Bass beer. It cost $6.99 for a six pack. What the hell is the deal with that?
I wonder why would Vons sell Bass for twice as much.
I finally left Albertson's with a six pack Guinness bottles. As I sit here drinking my Guinness I regret not buying the cans.
