The Calexico Mardi Gras "beer tasting experience" is scheduled for this Friday, February 20th, from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM. I don't know what the cover charge will be or how much a beer will be sold for, but is anyone planning to go? Does anyone know if they'll be providing any beer selection that is out of the norm in Calexico?

I'm interested in going, but not alone. I plan to wear my Calecia.com baseball jersey with a sports coat over it, of course. |

If you wear your sportcoat over it then they won't see the website address on the back.
I proudly wore Calecia.com baseball jersey this weekend in the Bay Area. Sadly no one asked me what Calecia.com was. |

I was being facetious.

Excellent. Everyone needs to wear Calecia.com apparel once in a while. |

I called the Calexico Chamber of Commerce (357-1166) and asked for the details.
Cover charge will be $20 and will include 4 or 5 beers, plus finger foods and a variety of other snacks. They will be selling tacos, the lady said.
She also stated that they were going to give out masks, I guess in relation to Mardi Gras.
I asked what kind of variety of beer they will be offering and they said around 14. All from Budweiser/Claypool Distributing. She couldn't provide me with an exact list of names, but I can't imagine it being anything out of the ordinary.
Does anyone know? |

By the sound of that it seems that the only beer worth trying might be Sierra Nevada. |
