In case some of you haven't noticed, everytime you purchase a canned or bottled beverage, you get charged a little hidden tax called CRV tax.
But what is CRV? I know it stands for Cash Redemption Value. But the other day I bought a bottle of soda and I got charged an 8 cent CRV tax. Now I know if I take that bottle to the recycling place I'm not going to get 8 cents for it. So should I take it back to the store to get my 8 cents? Is the CRV tax just a scam?
This really bothers me because sometimes I think I have exactly enough for a soda, but I don't take the CRV into consideration, and it turns out I'm a few cents short. So no soda for me. And no soda for me means, no happy for me. |

| In Mexico you had to take an empty bottle of soda to the store in order to buy another one. If you didn't have the emply bottle, THEN you would be charged whatever the bottle cost. All bottles are now plastic and there's no "retornable" bottles. I really miss those times when we went to the store with a heavy ass glass bottle to get our "Jumbo". Maybe USA should have "retornables" in order to avoid paying those extra 8 cents every damn time you buy a soda, or like waaaaaaaay back in the old days in Guanajuato when they would give you your soda in a plastic bag with a straw. |

I remember that, but I experienced that in Culiacan. I always thought it was the funniest thing. Can't imagine something like that happening here though. Too many parents complaining.
So you think the 8 cents charge is a seperate charge for the bottle? If that's true just give me the soda in a bag. |

When I was in Ensenada and I didn't take a bottle to buy a soda they said they would pour it in a plastic bag. I told them to stick the plastic bag up their ass and I drank the soda in the store.
That was stupid. |
