The other night we were in Mex eating some hot dogs and next door was a shop that had to have used the most blatant trademark/logo infringement I've seen to date. It was a candy store and the name of it was McDulces. From the logo and down to the font used, it was blatantly a rip from McDonald's.

We laughed real hard. Too bad we didn't have a camera on hand.

It being Mex and everyone appearing to get away with a lot of shit, there has to be a lot more rip offs out there. Maybe one better than McDulces.

Anyone have any to share?

I know that place! It's on Anahuac, past Lazaro Cardenas, in front of the pharmacy called Benavides. It's pretty damn hilarious. The only other place I can think of is that chicken place on Justo Sierra called Regis Fried Chicken or something like that.

What about the "7-Lleven" in San Felipe? That's got to be the most blatant one.

You ever seen all those ads they have at the linea at the top of that building? The really big ones right before you reach the "curve"? Well, on those ads there is and ad for a dentist that is asking to be sued! On the ad there are the Simpsons, the Flinstones, and many other major cartoon characters (but with slightly different colors.)

I love that ad!!! It used to have a horse sitting on a dentist's chair getting his teeth worked on. I always used to laugh at the ad when I passed. Who was the advertising genius behind that ad? Who was the target market?

The new one has Pokemon, Dragonball Z, Pebbles & Bam-Bam! This ad is smart. Show that to any kid, and they'll want to go the dentist. Imagine the disappointment when the kid arrives and Bart & Milhouse aren't there, but issues of TV Novelas are sprawled all over the waiting room and Cristina is on TV.

I was going down Sinaloa towards "La Once" when I came across Peter Personal Pizza. The logo was very similar, if not exact, to the Peter Piper Pizza one.

I saw that the other day in Mex as well. So, it's not a Peter Piper Pizza? Could've fooled me. Wink

This one isn't about a particular store, but i remember when i was in high school, and the nike shoes were the bomb. I went to cachanilla and to my surprise found some shoes very similar to the ones Charles Barkely had come out with at the time, but the ones in mex where called AIR CHARLY it was pretty funny, The had some called just AIR.
