| Has anybody here gone to Caliente to bet on any sports? I really wanted to bet on this coming super bowl, but I have no Idea on how that works. Can anybody here tell me how to go about betting at least $50 ? How's that point's spread work? Also, does anyone here know who's doing a SB Pool? |

The point spread for the Super Bowl right now is Patriots -7. All that means is that, if you bet on the Patriots, they have to win by more than 7 points, or, if you bet on the Pathers, they have to win straight out, or lose by no more than 6 points for you to win.
The "-110" you see next to the point spread means that for you to win $100 you must bet $110 on the winning proposition.

Does that mean I can't bet $50 ? or if I do bet $50, I only win $40 ?

Man, bemisnorris I thought you were a gambler. Caliente never has the same line as Vegas odds. Caliente is known for rippin you off .5 of a point. The spread at Caliente is at -6.5 Pats.
Whats the Big deal? Well most games either end in 1, 3, 4, 7, 10 points. This is a big deal if you want to get the Panthers at +7 because this way your odds increase dramatically. Teams hardly win by 8 or 9 points, so technically you have to lose by more than 10 points. If the games ends with a difference of 7 points then you push. BUT only if you drop your bet at the window. This means when you walk in the door there are some sheets of paper. Get the one with Super Bowl stuff on it. Then get the Number (its next to the teams name) for the team you want to bet. Then approach the window and say the number (527, 50 dolares). That's it. Now if you go and bet on the parlay cards (yellow, pink, or blue) then if it 'pushes' witch is called a tie, then you don't get your money back. Usually on the parlay card the odds are a little different.
So back to the .5 point. If you pick the Panthers at +6.5 (you get those points/ lay the points) and they lose by 7 points (which is very likely) then you my friend lose because Caliente decided to rip you off the .5 point. |

If you go to window (don't use parlay card) and give the guy the number and place a 50 dollar bet, then if you win you get your $50 back plus and additional $40 (what you won). Total is $90. |

That is very true. Caliente is notorious for the ".5" point spread. You have no idea how many of my tickets ate shit, because of the ".5"!  |

I did click on it (just now) and if you look closely that is the spread for when you BUY a .5 point. Thus the spread is at -6.5 Pats. They are trying to trick you so when you go up to the window your gambling ass will expect +7. Of course, most rookies and bashful people won't ask Campeon (teller) what the current line is. So you place your bet and get your ticket. As you move aside you notice that the spread is -6.5, but probably won't say shit and move along. Basically, then and there you just know you just got loved by Caliente.

I don't know; if you move the cursor up to where it says "Compra de 1/2 punto en SUPER BOWL XXXVIII" it appears to be a link for those that wish to buy the half point. I only go to the website as a reference and have never bet online, so I might be wrong. |
