If you call someone on the telephone, and are uncertain of whom you've actually called, it is your obligation to introduce yourself and state the purpose of your call. Proper etiquette also dictates that you apologize for the interruption, as well.
If you dial my telephone number and then demand, "Who's this?" when you don't recognize my voice, don't be surprised if I try out some of my material on you and hang up.
