The thing is there is no one fashion that overs powering another. People dress how ever they want and if they want to be punk without knowing the meaning behind it then it has became a matter of fashion statement. What it comes down to is how much of a poser are you willing to be. Old shool punks area a dying breed. They are like great grandpas with WWII stories.

Old school punks like the ones that overthrew the local government back in 1977 and established anarchy as the new law?

You got it.

There is a museum in mexicali, it's not the greatest but it is a museum, how many of you have really gone to it?

I have; it was way back in the 7th grade, though.

There's El Sol del Niņo, who's been there?

I've taken my kids there, twice.

people want more bars.

Maybe, but nobody wants the same type of bars.

What would be nice in Mexicali would be a water park, sorta like oasis in Palm Springs.

Agreed. Does anyone know why the waterslides they used to have in Mexicali closed down? I never got to go. Crying or Very sad

There's the thing, they can put a museum, a zoo, art gallery, etc... and no matter how great it is, how many times can you really go in a year without having seen the same shit and getting bored? Mundo Divertido was the funnest family place to go to, and you saw what happened to it, people weren't going. I did not go 1 single time in the last 2 years before they closed. Everybody is always bitching about there not being a place to go for entertainment in mex (including myself), yet we never do go to the few that we do have. Pavarotti was a once in a lifetime event here in Mexicali, and how many of you went? I know, Pavarotti does not appeal to everyone, but so what, just to be part of this incredible event that put Mexicali in the map for the world, I wasn't about to miss it.

About the Toboganes in Mex, they're still there at the Bosque, but they only open them in the summer time.

Dudes, get it right. Punk has and will always be a fashion statement.

Like the tub top was a fashion statement for Feminist?

Seriously, the only people who consider Punk a fashion statement are teenagers and deadbeat "grownups." It always has been, and always will be, about the music; with the exception of bands who use fashion as a gimmick, of course, which I really enjoy if they put on a show equal to their wardrobe (i.e. The Briefs.)

I took my kids to Mundo Divertido, maybe, six months before it closed, and there was a decent amount of people there. I was even thinking of having my son's birthday party there, when I found out that they had closed it down.

To be honest, I would've gone to see Pavarotti if I could have afforded it, just to say that I was there.

The problem with places in the Valley and in Mexicali is that they always think that they have to change something about the place. When they do that, they bring in a different crowd and run out the regulars. Case in point, The Bulldog was a decent sports bar and grill when they first opened up. Then they decided to cater more to the dance crowd and got rid of most of their pool tables, which lead to their downfall.

Hell, you can't even go to a fast food joint in Mexicali and not see 85% of the customers dressed as if they were going to a dance club!

I've noticed that all of the posts were from "punks", therefore that's the reason for saying Mexicali fun is over, cause the punk scene has slowed down and there isn't really that many places where punks can go to, except that one bar by La Taberna.

It's not that were Punks looking for Punk things to do. We're just normal people looking for alternatives to the fresa-drone bullshit that runs rampant in Mexicali-base entertainment.
