America only gets in by name. They should never represent Mexico's soccer league in any international competition.
What have they won? I'll tell you, NOTHING.
Plus, they have televisa doing them 'paros' all the time. |

| The 8 teams chosen to play the Pre-Libertadores were chosen because they were the 8 teams with the best records in the last 2 seasons, america was 3rd place. Let's also not forget that America won the championship in 2002, how soon you forget. America is the team with the 2nd most championships in Mexico with 9. Just cause they had a dry spell for 12 years before winning a championship again in 2002, doesn't mean that the organization sucks. Tigres is a great organization, and they have 20 something years without winning a championship. I agree with you that Televisa does help out America, but NO SHIT !, they are the owners. Doesn't George Steinbrenner (or however you spell it) do the Yankees "paros" ? |

| Let me just add that the 2 times that America participated in the Copa Libertadores, they reached the quartefinals and the semifinals. Case Closed! |

I hope you don't call that an argument or a case. Weak.
So just because they went deep into the bracket does that mean they succeeded? The answer is no because they still lost. Instead they should have had a more deserving team (better record) that would have actually won the copa. |

| Come on man, only 1 team gets to win, does that mean that all the other 30 + teams suck? NO |

FINALS REPORT:
Santos beat Atlas 5-4 in penalties to win the 1st ticket to the Copa Libertadores. It was a very even game in which I thought that Atlas should've won cause they had the best opportunities. A player from Atlas was ejected, and maybe this helped out Santos a little.
America beat Morelia 3-1 in front of a totally packed stadium, which I really liked, reminded me of the English stadiums which are smaller and you're closer to the field. The atmosphere was like no other I had ever experienced, not even when I saw America win their most recent championship in front of 115,000 boring fucken chilangos. The game was closer than what the score says, Morelia had 2 shots hit the post and had moments of total control of the game. But the objective of the game is to put the ball in the goal, and America was clearly more efficient, with their 2 new contractions Reynaldo Navia and Ariel Gonzales both scoring for the second time in this tournament.
America will now play Atlas Wednesday the 21st and 28th of January in a home and away series in order to decide who the winner of the 2nd ticket to the Copa Libertadores is. Mexican League tournament starts this weekend, and the most attractive game is of course, America vs Hugo Sanchez's Pumas. |

Winning is the only thing.
I wonder if Roberto Baggio is happy with his second place finish in the World Cup (94). Especially, after he missed his penalty shot in the 'penales'.
Look stats and awards don't mean shit. Again, do you think Roberto Baggio is content or happy with his Fifa player of the year in 1994? No. He's a loser. He fuckin chocked. Best player in the world and he missed his penalty shot, weak.
Dan Marino, great competitor and passer, but not a winner. He never won a Super Bowl. On the other hand Joe Montana won 4 rings. Now that's a winner.
Maybe that's America's problem. They play for second place. All that talent, and no heart. You call that a winner. |

Using that as your argument, then you must be a loser, since you've never been "Teacher of the Year". |

America, Chivas, Pumas... who gives a shit? It's the Copa Libertadores, so any Mexican team that makes it into this South American cup should be fully supported.
Although America is kicking some ass and so is Santos. |
