Anyone have T-Mobile service in Calexico?
The T-Mobile G1 (first Google Android-based phone) was announced this morning and I am real curious as to how good T-Mobile service is in Calexico and Mexicali.
Android is the alternative to the iPhone. Might even kill the iPhone... |

I use T-Mobile. It's pretty good everytime I go to El Centro. Not too bad in Calexico either. I'm seriously looking into getting a G1. It seems as though I'll have to pay 300 bucks for it. I wonder if it's worth it. |

The price should end up being less than $200 after the $100 mail-in-rebate (MIR). Initial reports were saying the device price would be $179 (after MIR), but apparently not.
You'll also have to pay for a data package, which I do not know the exact price for. I believe it's $25 to $35 with "unlimited" Internet and 400 SMS text messages. Unlimited SMS with the higher price.
With everything new, there are issues. The same with the iPhone. But the G1 won't be the only Android-based phone coming out, unlike the iPhone. The cool thing about the T-Mobile G1 is that it'll be available in brown, as well and black and white.
Of course, I still have over a year to go with my Sprint contract, so I'm forced to play the waiting game. |
