Granted, I'm Cheap!

But do you guys get "digital" over the air (antenna, not cable) channels like fox 9, nbc 11, cbs 13 in Calexico??? is it just a Calexico thing that does not get the digital reception?? Is it the whole valley??? Any one knows what the deal is?

I live in Calecia and I cant get 9, 11 or 13 in HD. I have Directv so I have to get local channels with an antenna. The mexican channels like 7, 14, 25 and 28 I get are crystal clear.

heres what Fox 9 said in an email they sent me about this subject matter...

We have had digital TV coverage to the Imperial Valley from the same time Yuma had coverage. The way it works is: one transmitter (located in California) Covers the both the Imperial Valley and Yuma counties.
However signal strength is reduced due to FCC border agreement with Mexico’s counterpart. But with an outside antenna there adequate coverage of the entire valley.
Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions.

Best regards.

What the F! so all calecianos have to get an outdoor antenna just to get those freaking channels just cause we live next to the border!?!

That is really messed up!

You might want to look into the "sonicview" ,"viewsat", or "coolsat" if you want real over the air free channels.
